ShowMojo has a powerful applicant screening feature, backed by Experian and Contemporary Information Corp (CIC), that can be enabled at any time. Screening fees are charged only to the applicant, and not to your account. There is no credentialing nor approval process that you must complete to start using this feature.
The Details
This feature is free and immediately available to you: The applicant screening feature Is completely free to you, the ShowMojo customer. It is paid for by the renter at the point of application, and that fee is visible to you when you select the type of report (with or without a criminal and eviction check).
Payments by and refunds to the applicant: When applicant screening is enabled, just like the Application Fees feature, the prospect must pay the application fee in order to complete the application process. The prospective renter is clearly informed that there is no refund of any application fees. Nonetheless, you will find refund options available to you on the Applications page. It’s important to note that, if you have already requested a screening, you will be charged the fee for the screening, so it can be returned to the applicant.
Prospective renters must use your ShowMojo rental application: It’s all seamlessly integrated: application, payment, fees transmitted to your account (if you collect them) and the screening report. Because of this, there is no way to add an applicant manually and then screen them. For any applicant you want to screen, simply send them to complete the application form (they can follow the Apply link on the listing page).
To initiate a screening: You simply request an applicant screening from the Applications page. Once you’ve done this, ShowMojo automatically contacts the applicant and receives approval to share the report, then emails you when the report is ready.
Only the Account Owner has access to applicant screening: We hope to add team-wide access as we continue to build out this feature set.

You’re ready to go, and this should be super easy. If you are the Account Owner just follow these steps:
- Go to the Applicant Screening Settings page.
- Complete the form and select the report type you wish to receive.
For any new application you receive, just follow the link in the email (or go to the Applications page) and click to request a report.
Get Started When You Are Not Currently Taking Applications through ShowMojo
