Very occasionally, a CodeBox key compartment door can get stuck in the closed position. In this situation, you will see a "Push and Release" message on the CodeBox screen, but the door will not open. If you have a CodeBox in this condition, follow these steps to troubleshoot:
- Use the agent code to access the CodeBox and keep your eyes on the screen. If you see a "Low Battery" warning, then use the secondary battery connector to power the CodeBox and access the key compartment.
- Locate a thin, flat-head screwdriver. Use the agent code to access the CodeBox and press "3". While the "Push and Release" message is on-screen, try to gently pry the door open.
- Locate a carpeted area. Use the agent code to access the CodeBox and press "3". While the "Push and Release" message is on-screen, drop the CodeBox from a height of about five feet.
