Screening Question Restrictors Feature Overview

Screening question restrictors are built directly into ShowMojo's Pre-Showing Questionnaires. Restrictors identify prospective renters who do not meet specific listing-based criteria and stop them from scheduling a showing.

These restrictors currently include:

Any of these four screening questions may be configured to act as a restrictor. Note that each question is initially added as a normal screening question. A simple setting update is necessary to enable and specify the specific behavior of the restrictor.

There is no limit to the number of custom dropdown restrictors that may be used on a single questionnaire. You can also:

  • Select a special ask more & restrict option on a custom dropdown question that enables both the restrict scheduling and ask more details features on the same question.
  • Use Conditional Screening Questions‍ to add an amazing amount of flexibility within a single questionnaire.

Apart from a pets "mismatch", restrictors do not specify why the prospect has been disallowed from scheduling. This is by design, so as not to hand less scrupulous prospects the exact information they need to foil the restrictor and schedule a showing on a listing for which they do not qualify.

Custom Dropdown Question Markup

Custom dropdown questions have some specific markup that is visible when they are first configured. For easy reference we are including that mark up here. 

At the end of an answer option, use:

  • The # symbol to restrict showings with that answer option from being scheduled. 
  • The ^ symbol to ask an additional question when that specific answer is selected.

These markers can be used for different features on the same question.

Other Details

Restrictors are pretty advanced and can have some significant nuances. So please note some important additional details.

Showings created by an agent using the New Showing feature will be scheduled even if the required pre-screening questions are blank or if the answers provided do not meet the restrictions.

A showing that is stopped from scheduling due to a restrictor is referred to as a Declined Showing in ShowMojo reports and documentation.

Screening question restrictors are not available in ShowMojo CLASSIC.
